Creating aptitude puzzles

Mathematics learning is not just developing numerical solving skills of students. There are lot of skills like logical thinking, aptitude, knowledge and understanding enhancements which are an integral part of learning mathematics.
Here I am talking of developing aptitude in students of observing patterns and generating the next in steps. Children , specially of grade 6 to 8 love to do mathematical pattern based questions. I have created puzzles based on mathematical patterns and spatial arrangements . The images have been set to panorama view using an open source software Irfan view.
Following are some samples of playing with match sticks.

What we do with these pictures?

Show them to students and ask the following:

Guess the next figure and draw . Find a relationship between number of match sticks between consecutive steps . Try to formulate a general expression for the nth step.
Following are some samples of playing with unit cubes:

Guess the next figure and draw . Find a relationship between number of unit cubes between each consecutive steps . Try to formulate a general expression for the nth step.
Have fun learning mathematics using technology.
