The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) is an international assessment of the mathematics and science knowledge of fourth grade and eighth grade students around the world.
In 2011, more than 60 countries and other education systems, including the United States, participated in TIMSS. Here is the presentation by the TIMSS Head giving a snapshot analysis of the assessment conducted.
