Using online applets

Learning Geometry is Fun!!

Lots of children are having a phobia for learning geometry. I have analysed this fact many a times that during the examination, students are nervous in solving geometry based questions. This fear is due to lack of visualisation or non clarity of concepts /geometrical theorems. Students tend to cram the geometrical results which leads to lesser clarity and a doubtful situation. Even questions based on simple results such as "sum of interior angles of a triangle is 180 degree" are attempted wrong sometimes.

I experimented on teaching geometry using online available interactive applets for learning middle school geometry .It proved to be beneficial as students were able to experiment/explore on basic geometrical facts using the interactive applets.

I believe as a teacher, we must keep on trying new solutions according to the needs of the students.
